Steal My Money, Not My Son!

Divorce Source Radio - A podcast by Divorce Source Radio

Research into family breakdown shows that more than one in three children never see their fathers again after their parents split up, and nearly one in ten is so traumatized by the separation that they have considered suicide.  Children are often used as 'emotional footballs' and are left feeling 'used, isolated and alone,' with many turning to alcohol and drugs. A father's biggest fear during a divorce is what impact this will have on his children, and the possibility of actually losing custody, as well.  Many  people in our society don't see fathers' rights as important as mothers' rights.  Although there is a movement towards 50/50 custody in some states, very often, mothers end up winning custody of their children.  Children need both parents and fathers shouldn't be pushed out of their children's lives after a divorce. This is the story of Chris Marshall, a father who has been fighting for years for the right to have a reasonable custody arrangement.  His legal nightmare has cost him tens of thousands of dollars, as well as a thirty day jail sentence.
