Busyness may feel harmless when we look at it at first glance. After all you’re just filling your schedule with things that allow you to focus on what’s important and you’re creating a chance for you to become more productive. The sad reality is that busyness can actually prevent you from being present within your own life and therefore wreck havoc on your overall wellbeing. Feeling the need to be busy all the time is a response we do out of fear and what we are scared may happen if we slow down. A lot of times after we have experienced something traumatic the idea of having to deal with the difficult emotions associated with the experience feels overwhelming and definitely not fun. So we try to cover our time with things that will keep us distracted so we don’t have to face it. The truth is eventually we have to face it we’re just delaying the inevitable. Instead of running from it or trying to cover up your thoughts and emotions with people, places or just the busyness be still with your thoughts .
