Over the past week a Climate Camp took place on farmland close to the site of the controversial fracked gas import terminal in Tarbert. Much of the camp’s focus was to create direct action targeting the proposed Shannon LNG project. As the camp was taking place, Limerick Minister of State Patrick O’Donovan, welcomed Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s comment that LNG had to be considered in light of the energy security crisis brought about by the war in Ukraine.
